This recipe is one of our very own - created in the culinary mind of my husband, Bryan! He would have totally become a chef if he didn't enjoy cooking so much! It was amazingly delicious so without further ado, here are the deets!
Ingredients:
2 (15-ounce) cans pinto beans (not drained)
1 pound lean hamburger
1/4 pound breakfast sausage
2 cups chopped yellow onion
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
2 cubes beef bouillon (or 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules)
1 1/2 teaspoon Mediterranean Basil Salt (regular or spicy)
1 teaspoon chili powder
3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon Laura’s Raw Buckwheat Honey
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
1. Brown hamburger, sausage and onions together in 6-quart saucepan.
2. Add pinto beans (not drained), add can of tomato sauce and add enough water to rinse can.
3. Add beef bouillon granules. Note: If using beef bouillon cubes, dissolve in 1/4 cup water then add to the pan.
4. Add MBS, honey, garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. Blend thoroughly.
5. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
6. Serve. (preferably with some corn bread - YUM)
